Approved Installation Locations
Around the home, there are several spots where you can install StoneImpressions tile.
One such spot is a vertical installation on dry wall. This type of tile installation can be in the form of:
- Kitchen backsplashes
- Fireplace surrounds
- Accent walls
- Staircase risers
If you’re considering a tile backsplash above your kitchen range, make sure you take into account the grade of your range.
Commercial-grade ranges can put out some serious heat! That’s why we recommend using a riser to keep your tile protected.

Installation Locations to Avoid
Now that we’ve covered the ideal installation spots for StoneImpressions tile, let’s turn our attention to the spaces you should avoid.
When it comes to flooring, heavy traffic flooring areas should be avoided.
You’ll also want to avoid installing our tiles in any submerged water spaces or spots where water can pool. This includes locations like:
- Steam showers
- Saunas
- Pools
- Shower floors
- Areas where water pools like shower niche lips or shower bench seats
Beyond those spots, our decorative patterned tiles should not be installed in any exterior or outdoor spaces.

Helpful Installation Tips
For a successful installation, keep in mind the following tips:
- Treat your product as you would regular natural stone: seal when cut and after install.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals and abrasives on your tiles.
- When in doubt about which adhesive to use, use a white Thinset. We do not recommend using Mastic.
- Cut the material artwork face up. Cut pieces should be allowed to dry, then the cut edge should be sealed, and allowed to fully cure before installation.
- While the stone should be protected during install, please do not use any tape directly on the product.
