In these times of uncertainty, what has helped us cope with anxieties about the future has been to stay busy and focusing on exciting goals. One of our biggest hopes is that jobs continue and small businesses can stay operational during these trying times. We need to support each other, so on today’s blog we are giving you a few tile renovation ideas that are small-scale and budget-friendly. Let’s band together by supporting fellow small businesses, manufacturers, interior designers, tile showrooms, tile installers, construction companies…everyone! We’ve said it before, but we will say it again: You don’t need hundreds of square feet of decorative tile to transform a space. See examples below!
1. Shower Niche
Maybe you had a plan of covering your shower walls in patterned tile, but need to tighten your budget…we suggest adding tile to your shower niche! We have seen designers use as little as four 6×6 tiles to create a unique, bold space in the shower. You can still bring color and boldness by staying small scale.

2. Bathroom Sink Decorative Backsplash
Who said you have to cover an entire wall with tile? Smaller scale decorative strips behind bathroom sinks are very popular now and we can see why! You can still make a bold statement with a few rows of decorative tile while dramatically keeping the cost of materials down.

Tile: Dana Point pattern in Persimmon on tumbled Perle Blanc, kept in-stock. Design by Kym at BattagliaStile
3. Kitchen Backsplash
Transform your kitchen with less than 20 tiles. A small-scale, rectangular backsplash accent feature is both timeless and also cost-effective. We can show you a rendering of what it would look like in your home. The effect is only a fraction of the cost but the result is a classic beauty.

4. Kitchen Nook Backsplash
Do you have a cute little nook in your kitchen or living room? Then add some decorative tile to it! You might be surprised that if you look around your home a little harder, you will find tons of little spaces that need tile. Pros: it’s super quick and simple to do–but will make a big impact!

I’m going to copy the shower idea above for our new cottage. Love the Mulholland with subway tile. Do you know what they used on shower floor?
