And just like that, Coverings is over!

We are always excited to exhibit at the Coverings show because it is when we get to see the latest tile trends and also hear feedback about our new designs.  Matt, a lead designer here at StoneImpressions, gave us some great insight on what he saw this year.

His observations:

  1. Beige is Back!

One thing that Matt thought was interesting was the shift from all white marble to more creamy and beige stone types such as limestone or Durango.  Many designers and dealers told him that they are over the “all grey and white” trend and would love to start bringing back earth tones and bold colors in homes.

2. Stand-Out Patterns

Like we said before, plain tiles are becoming less utilized in home remodels while patterned tiles are becoming increasingly popular.  While a neutral kitchen or bathroom can be a safe choice, home owners are starting to add bold patterns and tile murals to their space.  Many of the people who stopped by our booth said they are always interested in creative and one-of-a-kind designs on tile.

3. From Traditional to Transitional

Our last blog post, 2018 Bathroom Tile Trends, we discuss the most recent study by the NKBA, which states that contemporary and modern bathrooms are becoming a leading style in homes.  This growing trend was confirmed by the dealers and designers that stopped by our booth.  People were instantly drawn to our more modern and geometric patterns like the one above.

4. Texture, Texture, Texture

When we asked our dealers and designers what designs they were instantly drawn to, the Petals pattern was a top pick.  The consensus was that they gravitated toward the textured, 3D look of the pattern.
